Hog Roast Armathwaite Serves A Top Tier Feast At A Wimbledon-Themed Party!

Hog Roast ArmathwaiteWimbledon has a knack for bringing people together. Whether you’re mad about tennis or just want an excuse to catch up with friends. The tournament’s been around for almost a century and a half, and it’s not just about the matches – there’s something about the tradition and the atmosphere that feels uniquely British.

Even up here in Carlisle, where we’re far from the buzz of SW19, folks still get into the spirit of it. Around this time every year, you’ll find Wimbledon-themed gatherings popping up all over the place. And we’ve noticed that when food’s involved, Hog Roast Armathwaite often gets the call.

Just recently, we catered a garden party hosted by a lovely couple, Jim and Susan. They’d gone to town on the decorations – tennis-themed runners on the tables, bunting in purple and green, and bowls of strawberries on nearly every surface. The drinks were flowing, mostly Pimm’s, of course, and there was a fun little scoreboard where guests could write down match predictions. It had a bit of everything.

But with around 50 guests, drinks and strawberries weren’t going to cut it on their own. And that’s where Hog Roast Armathwaite stepped in.

We got started early that morning, giving the hog plenty of time to roast slowly and evenly. As the sun came out and the projector flickered on with live match coverage, guests in tennis whites began to arrive, chatting and lounging around the garden.

Hog Roast ArmathwaiteSoon enough, the smell of roasting pork took over the space – turning folks’ attention from Centre Court to the buffet table. As you can probably imagine, it really didn’t take much encouragement to get people lining up for food! We served up soft gluten-free rolls, stuffed with pulled pork, crispy crackling, homemade stuffing and applesauce. On the side? Mixed fries, salads and creamy ‘slaw for good measure.

Even the plant-based guests were well looked after. Hog Roast Armathwaite’s iconic grilled veg and halloumi skewers with flatbreads and tzatziki dip went down a treat. Light, fresh, and colourful – just right for a warm boiling hot summer afternoon.

Hog Roast Armathwaite had so much fun catering for this event and can’t wait to see what our customers have in store for us next. If you’re looking to celebrate this summer, be sure to give us a buzz!
