Having a few people round but can’t seem to sort the food out? Yeah, we’ve been there.
At Hog Roast Orton, we know the big moments in life aren’t always… big. Some of the best ones are small. Cosy. Intimate.
That’s why we don’t set guest number minimums here at Hog Roast Orton. If there’s only a handful of you, that’s absolutely fine. It definitely doesn’t mean you should be stuck peeling spuds or watching the oven all day.
We cater for all kinds of get-togethers, even the ones that come out of nowhere. Like Deb’s.
Deb and her other half snuck off and got married last week. It was an old-fashioned elopement. No heads-up, no fuss. Just went and did it. Then, a few days later, she decided to give Hog Roast Orton a call.
Deb wanted to pull together a last-minute do at her place to celebrate her new marriage. Again, nothing over the top, just 15 of her favourite people.
Of course, we were well up for it!
Hog Roast Orton rocked up to Deb’s home last weekend ready and raring to go, and what do we see parked in the driveway? A classic Ford Gran Torino. Yep, exactly like the one off Starsky and Hutch.
We set up our catering equipment beside it and got stuck right in.
Sam, our catering manager, headed things up. He made sure the crackling was top-notch (and trust me, it was). And, as always, everything was made using proper fresh ingredients sourced from local farms and markets to ensure the best flavour all round.
Menu-wise, Hog Roast Orton kept it pretty classic – yes, just like the car. Hog roast sandwiches with sage and onion stuffing, crispy crackling, and apple sauce. Rolls were a mix, wholemeal and gluten-free, offering something for everyone.
Oh, and we brought loads of Sauce Shop options. People got experimental, playing around with unique flavour combos that made the whole experience feel that bit more personal.
Once Deb spilled the beans about the wedding, everyone was buzzing and ready to ramp up the celebrations.
No one was shy about helping themselves to extras, and the energy in the air was so electric we found ourselves grinning all day long.
