School sports day is something that every kid eagerly looks forward to. It’s a day filled with laughter, friendly competition, and family cheer from the sidelines. And, this year, the excitement reached new heights for kids at a local primary school as the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) went all out, raising enough funds to treat everyone to a delicious spread, courtesy of Hog Roast Moorend.
From the moment the kids arrived on the sports field, the energy was palpable. Tossing bean bags, carefully balancing eggs on spoons, and sprinting through relay races kept them happily occupied throughout the afternoon. Parents and family members cheered enthusiastically, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Meanwhile, from our own spot on the sidelines, Hog Roast Moorend’s catering manager, John, and the team were hard at work preparing a feast fit for champions. The aroma of BBQ goodness filled the air as juicy beef burger patties, succulent sausages, flavourful chicken kebabs, and sticky BBQ spareribs sizzled on the grill. It was a meat-lovers paradise that catered to every palate.
Not forgetting our vegetarian and vegan friends, we offered mouth-watering meatless burgers and sausages that were just as tasty and satisfying. The spread was complemented by sides of refreshing pasta salad, creamy coleslaw, and crispy mixed fries served with salt, vinegar, and a variety of sauces. Freshly baked rolls and wraps, along with condiments, dips, and napkins, were laid out for guests to enjoy at their leisure.
As the sporting activities came to an end and the awards were proudly handed out, hungry participants and spectators alike rushed to indulge in the delicious spread. It was the perfect conclusion to a day filled with excitement and healthy competition. Everyone appreciated the variety and quality of the food, which added an extra layer of enjoyment to an already memorable day.
