Last weekend, Hog Roast Scaleby’s team loaded up the catering unit and journeyed farther afield than usual after getting the heads up from one of our long-time clients, Tommy, that a food festival was going ahead!
Never wanting to miss out on an opportunity to share our flavoursome food with the masses, our team jumped at the chance to get involved, and after a quick call to the event organiser, our catering manager, John, had been able to secure a spot for our hog roast stall with ease.
The atmosphere among the catering staff was electric as they travelled towards the venue, and they were anxious to get cooking as soon as possible! Fortunately, John’s impeccable time-keeping skills had the group there in plenty of time to cook up a storm before the first of the punters arrived.
Relying on their expertise, comradery, and some of the finest, freshest ingredients in all of Carlisle, Hog Roast Scaleby whipped up a flawless spread comprising of a full-size hog, which the team carefully slow-roasted over real flames for hours, our homemade sage and onion stuffing infused with juices from the pork as it cooked, a huge batch of our iconic applesauce and, to bring everything together, gluten-free and wholemeal rolls.
For vegetarian and vegan attendees, our team made sure to prepare BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls with plant-based slaw, ensuring that our stall offered something for every set of taste buds.
We’re excited to share with you that Hog Roast Scaleby couldn’t have hoped for a better day! As soon as our rolls were ready to serve, a large queue formed at our stall. Many of the visitors had been lured over to our stand by the wonderful fragrances that wafted from the hog roast, so our team rolled up their sleeves and worked like mad to serve everyone in a timely manner.
Together, our crew pulled off a phenomenal serve, and none of the guests were left waiting too long before being served. As for the food itself, everyone who tried Hog Roast Scaleby’s trademark menu was blown away by the outstanding flavours!
