Whether you’re turning 1 or 100, birthdays are the ultimate reason to gather your loved ones, let loose with music, indulge in cake, and feast on a mountain of delicious food. And when it comes to throwing a birthday bash to remember, no one does it quite like Timmy.
This Carlisle local has earned a legendary reputation for his extravagant birthday parties, and every year, his friends and family eagerly anticipate his next big event. For the past five years, Hog Roast How has had the privilege of catering his celebrations, and this year was no exception. With Timmy hitting the big 4-0, he was determined to outshine all his previous parties with an unforgettable country western-style extravaganza.
Set on a sprawling farm under vast open skies, the scene was set for an evening straight out of a cowboy’s dream. Kids giggled as they trotted around on ponies, while adults were kept entertained by beer burros delivering refreshing drinks right to their hands. A roaring campfire crackled in the background, inviting guests to gather round for singalongs and gooey, golden-brown s’mores. Rustic tipis were scattered around, providing cosy spots for guests to sit back and soak up the atmosphere.
And then, of course, there was the food – because what’s a country western party without a proper Southern-style feast? Timmy entrusted Hog Roast How to deliver a meal worthy of his milestone birthday, and we did not disappoint. Our Southern Slow Roast Menu was the perfect choice, and catering manager Jordan spent the afternoon meticulously preparing each dish to perfection.
The air was thick with the irresistible aroma of pre-marinated meats cooked low and slow over real flames, infusing them with that signature smoky flavour that defines a great Southern BBQ. The pork butt was a runaway favourite, as guests eagerly loaded up their plates, pairing it with creamy mac and cheese, classic potato salad, Memphis-style crunchy coleslaw, and a generous helping of mixed sweet potato and traditional fries.
The Cajun-spiced whole roast chicken and sticky Louisiana-style pork ribs were devoured just as quickly, satisfying every palate in attendance. Even the veggies and vegans were in for a treat, thanks to our BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls that had them coming back for seconds!
Timmy was once again over the moon with the service and the food, and has promised to keep his Hog Roast How birthday tradition going!
