When Meghan and Rosie contacted Hog Roast Armathwaite last month, they were preparing to treat their dad, Steven, to a delicious Father’s Day lunch and wanted some help from our expert catering team.
Wondering how it went?
Amazing!
The pair knew their dad would appreciate spending time with his two girls and the rest of the family a whole lot more than any gift card or cheesy mug. So, they secretly plotted for everyone to meet at Meghan’s home on Sunday, the 15th for a relaxed garden party.
With the weather playing up and thunderstorms threatening to spoil the weekend’s fun, Meghan and Rosie set up marquees in the garden and lots of comfy furnishings to keep everyone feeling cosy and relaxed regardless of the weather. They also decorated with blue and white balloons, ‘Happy Father’s Day’ banners and even went to the trouble of baking a delicious-looking chocolate cake for after lunch.
And speaking of lunch… Hog Roast Armathwaite pulled out all the stops! Under the cover of our own gazebo, our catering manager, Jordan, worked tirelessly to rustle up a huge BBQ spread with enough variety and abundance for all 100 guests.
From handmade British beef burgers and butcher-style sausages to Thai-style chicken kebabs and sticky spareribs, there was something for every meat lover on the grill. And yes, the non-meat-eaters were taken care of too with veggie burgers and grilled vegetable skewers with halloumi chunks, tzatziki dip and flatbreads on offer.
But that wasn’t the end of the spread. At Hog Roast Armathwaite we’re firm believers that side dishes are just as important as the ma
ins and we went all out to prepare some truly tasty accompaniments that had our guests raving. Pasta salad, homemade coleslaw and mixed sweet potato and classic fries tied the whole feast together and gave everyone the chance to experiment with different flavour combinations.
When Steven realised that all of this was for him, he was blown away. His whole family in one place, his girls going to so much effort to make his day memorable and Hog Roast Armathwaite’s
wholesome BBQ spread made this Father’s Day one for the memory books.
