Love, laughter, and two decades of wedded bliss – Iris and Samuel marked their platinum 20th wedding anniversary with an intimate gathering at home, surrounded by 25 of their closest friends and family. To ensure a seamless celebration filled with delectable delights, the couple turned to Hog Roast Armathwaite, renowned for being among the best in the business – and they were not disappointed.
From the outset, our catering manager, John, took charge, assisting the couple through every step of the booking process. His commitment to making the experience as stress-free as possible laid the foundation for what would be a memorable day.
On Sunday, the day of the party, John arrived well in advance, ready to transform the couple’s residence into a culinary haven. The unmistakable star of the show was a slow-cooked free-range pig, half immersed in a bed of sage and onion stuffing, infusing both dishes with an extra layer of flavour. Accompanying this carnivorous delight was a vegan-friendly alternative – BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls with crunchy ‘slaw, a testament to Hog Roast Armathwaite’s dedication to inclusivity.
Bamboo bowls presented the coleslaw and salads, each dish a harmonious blend of visual appeal and exquisite taste. Garlic and rosemary roast potatoes, kept warm in chafing dishes, added a touch of warmth to the feast.
As the clock struck 3 pm, guests began to arrive, greeted by charcuterie boards overflowing with Italian meats, rich cheeses, artisanal bread, and various dressings – a perfect introduction to the main course.
When it came time to carve the hog roast, the gathering intensified, with John expertly slicing the pig and separating the crackled skin from the juicy meat. The irresistible aroma set the stage for a feast enjoyed by all, with guests happy to indulge in extra helpings.
Dessert sealed the celebration on a sweet note, with profiteroles and cheesecake bringing Iris and Samuel’s 20th anniversary festivities to a perfect conclusion. As guests continued their celebrations indoors, Hog Roast Armathwaite efficiently packed away the catering equipment, cutlery and crockery. The only thing we left behind was carefully boxed leftovers for the couple to dig into the following day.
