Hog Roast Bromfield’s has kicked off 2025 in the most spectacular way, and we’re beyond thrilled to share that we had the honour of catering our first wedding of the year last week! Martin and Ava, the happy couple, tied the knot in a truly magical setting—an 800-year-old fairytale castle nestled in the heart of the picturesque Carlisle countryside. With frost-kissed gardens, sweeping views, and a deep sense of history, it was the perfect backdrop for their unforgettable day.
The reception took place in a stunning ballroom that left everyone in awe. With soaring vaulted ceilings and large windows flooding the room with light, it created an airy, almost ethereal atmosphere for the celebration. Hog Roast Bromfield’s spent the entire morning in this breathtaking space, preparing a feast fit for royalty for Martin, Ava, and their 112 guests.
To complement the grandeur of the venue, Martin and Ava selected our Formal Wedding Catering menu, and we were more than ready to deliver an unforgettable dining experience! Guests were welcomed with glasses of fizz or fresh fruit juice, paired with an irresistible array of canapés. From pan-seared fillet of beef to roasted halloumi and tomato crostini, roasted duck, smoked Scottish salmon, and silky chicken liver parfait, it was the perfect start to the celebration!
But the real highlight came with the buffet – where guests were in their element, helping themselves to a mouthwatering spread. Slow-roasted pork with crispy crackling, stuffing, and applesauce was the star of the show, alongside whole-roasted free-range chickens, chipolata sausages, and for our vegetarian guests, grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs with flatbreads and tzatziki. We made sure no one went hungry by offering a variety of side dishes, including vibrant heritage tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad, classic Caesar salad, seasonal greens, creamy gourmet coleslaw, and indulgent dauphinoise potatoes baked to perfection with garlic, onions, and double cream.
The atmosphere was buzzing as guests helped themselves to this decadent spread, with compliments flowing throughout the evening. To top it all off, we served two unforgettable desserts: rich sticky toffee pudding and a decadent chocolate torte—two perfect sweet endings to such a sumptuous meal.
Martin and Ava were overjoyed with how smoothly everything went, and Hog Roast Bromfield couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to make their wedding day so special. With full bellies and happy hearts, no one hit the dance floor hungry – what a perfect start to 2025!
