Hog Roast Irthington has been in the catering game for 20 years, and trust us, that has certainly felt like a lifetime for many of us. But those 20 years pale in comparison to the 60 years of life celebrated by one of our favourite local customers Johnny this past weekend, and to ring in the 6 decades in style Johnny called out his favourite roast catering team to enjoy his favourite roast dinner amongst many friends and family.
Hog Roast Irthington has been catering to Johnny and his wife for quite some time, beginning with an anniversary dinner 8 years ago catered by yours truly, and since that fateful day where Johnny took his first perfect crisp and tender bite of our famous hog roast neither he nor us have looked back. Birthdays, friends weddings, communion celebrations – Hog Roast Irthington has supplied many a fine feast for Johnny and co.
And so why would his 60th birthday be any different? Our team were delighted to hear from him again and jumped at the request to supply an all out dining spectacle to his upcoming 60th birthday. Both he and we wanted to pull out all the stops for such an occasion, and so we settled on the “Formal Hog Roast Dining Experience” – the crème-de-la-crème of fine roast dining at Hog Roast Irthington!
Guests were met with canapes of Scottish Smoked Salmon, Roasted Duck with Crispy Spring Rolls, Roasted Halloumi and Tomato Crostini, Pan Seared Fillet of Beef, and Mini Quiches upon arrival, just to let them they that they were in for a fine night of feasting ahead indeed! Following a typical rousing speech from Johnny to welcome and thank all guests it was onto the main event.
Our formal dining experience has starters served to the table. The majority of guests opted for our Roasted Breast Of Gressingham Duck or the Salmon with a few opting for our homemade Lentil Soup of the day. Mains are done buffet style in the formal package with service provided by our chef team for guests to receive as much food as they like. The Hog Roast and the roasted Lamb are standouts here to be enjoyed with side salads and roasted or dauphinoise potatoes.
Desserts were once again served to table before (presumably) long night of drinking and dancing ensued while Hog Roast Irthington packed up and headed off.
